Invite someone
Under the organisation's Members or Invitations. Needs organisation-admin access.
Steps
- Open Invitations and create one.
- Enter their email address.
- Choose the role they will hold — see what each role can do.
- Send.
- When they accept, set their site scope if they should be limited.
Step 5 is the one people miss
The invitation covers the role. It does not cover where they can work.
A new member arrives with no site restrictions, and no restrictions means every site. Someone you meant to limit to one warehouse can see all of them until you say otherwise.
Nothing flags this. There is no warning, and the person will not notice anything unusual — they will simply see more than you intended.
So if site scope matters in your organisation, treat it as part of onboarding rather than something to tidy up later. See limit someone to certain sites.
Choosing the role
Warehouse for operational staff — full inventory control plus the reads needed to pick and receive.
Member for office staff who work with orders and stock but do not administer.
Admin for people who manage members and settings. Note they can read billing but never manage it.
Read only for accountants, auditors, anyone who should look without touching.
Roles can be changed afterwards without re-inviting, so a narrower choice now is easy to widen later. The reverse — discovering someone had too much access — is not.
If your roles have been edited
The descriptions above are defaults. If your organisation has changed what a role grants, check what it means here before assuming.
Someone already in another organisation
They may already have a Yessort account. Inviting them adds a membership to yours; it does not create a second account or affect their access elsewhere.
