Simple and advanced locations
Every warehouse site runs in one of two location modes: simple or advanced. The mode is set per site, so one organisation can run a simple back-room site and a fully slotted warehouse side by side. Simple is the starting mode for every warehouse site. Shop and virtual sites ignore the setting entirely.

How transfers work
A transfer moves stock from one of your sites to another inside the same organisation — warehouse to shop, warehouse to warehouse, shop back to warehouse. The two sites must be different, and the transfer is the record of the whole journey: what was asked for, what the source could actually send, what left, and what arrived.
Transfer shortfalls
A transfer can come up short in two quite different ways, and Yessort names them differently because they need different handling. One happens before anything leaves the source site. The other happens after the stock is already on the road.
How putaway works
Putaway is the step between stock landing and being sellable. On a site using advanced locations, posting a goods receipt raises one putaway task for that receipt, with a line for each received line on it — and receiving a transfer at a site using advanced locations raises one the same way. The tasks are worked from Inventory → Putaway, which is a web screen only — there is no offline or phone version.
How pick-face replenishment works
Pick-face replenishment moves stock from reserve locations into forward-pick faces at the same site, so a picker never has to leave a pick face empty. It runs on sites using advanced locations only — a site using simple locations has no pick faces to top up. It's a web screen only — there is no offline or phone version.
How counting works
A count task covers one location — either the whole location, or, when it's raised against a single variant, just that one line. Counting works the same way on sites using simple or advanced locations, and it needs no freeze: the rest of the warehouse keeps working while a count is open.
Licence plates
A licence plate is a scannable container — a pallet, carton or gaylord — that holds stock and moves as a single unit. It belongs to one site, and gets a code like LPN-0001 automatically. Its type is descriptive only: a pallet doesn't behave any differently from a carton or a gaylord. The screen for working with them is Inventory → Licence plates.
