Clear the channel review queue

When a store has a product Yessort does not, it is proposed rather than created. The queue is where you decide what happens to it, and it is meant to be cleared regularly rather than left to build up.

Where it is

Under Catalogue in the workspace, showing every channel at once. This is the one to work from day to day.

A connection's own page under Integrations shows the same rows for just that store. Same queue, narrower scope.

Steps

  1. Open the queue and sort out the flagged rows first — they are where duplicates get created.
  2. Give each row a decision.
  3. Apply.
DecisionWhat it does
CreateMakes a new Yessort product and variant, and links it
Link to existingAttaches the listing to a variant you already have. Nothing new is created
SkipLeaves it. Nothing is created and nothing is linked

Look for a match before creating

The mistake worth avoiding is creating a second variant for something you already sell. Yessort flags rows whose SKU matches one of yours, but check anything that looks familiar — a product renamed in the store will not match on name.

Linking joins the two records. Creating leaves you with duplicates that are awkward to unpick once stock and orders have attached to them.

Your decisions are safe

Yessort keeps its own proposals fresh as the store changes, and never touches a decision you made. A row you skipped will not come back the next time someone edits the product in Shopify, and re-syncing the catalogue will not discard your work.

What happens to stock when you apply

Applying a create or link decision gives Yessort a link where it had none, so it compares the store's stock figure against its own.

A small difference — within 20% of the store's figure, or five units, whichever is larger — is booked automatically, so a brand-new variant sitting at zero does not have the store's correct stock wiped by the next push. Anything larger is held for you in the reconcile reviews.

Either way a record is written, so some of what you see there is a note of what Yessort did rather than a job. See resolve a stock reconcile review.

If the queue keeps filling

A store constantly proposing products may be one that should not propose at all — one sitting downstream of another system. Turn off Stage new Shopify products for review in that channel's catalogue settings.
