Re-sync a channel catalogue
A catalogue sync re-reads the store and reconciles what it finds. Use it when products have been added or changed in the store and you want Yessort to catch up in one go rather than waiting for individual events.
On the channel's Catalogue sync card under Integrations. Needs organisation-admin access.
Two kinds, and they are not interchangeable
| Kind | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sync | Reads the store and reconciles. Re-discovers new products, refreshes linked ones. Nothing is discarded |
| Reset | Clears this channel's pulled catalogue staging first, then reads fresh |
Sync is the one you want almost every time. It is safe to run whenever.
Reset throws away the staged catalogue for this channel, including review rows that have not been applied. You are asked to confirm. Reach for it only when the staged data itself is wrong — a pull that went badly, or a store reworked so thoroughly that what is staged bears no relation to it.
Reset does not touch products and variants already committed to your catalogue, or their links. It clears the staging area, not your data.
Steps
- Open the channel under Integrations and find Catalogue sync.
- Choose Sync, or Reset if you genuinely need to clear staging.
- Confirm if asked.
- Watch it run.
Watching it
Exporting from Shopify… — the store is building the export. Most of the time is spent here, shown as a running count rather than a bar, because the store does not report a total.
Saving into yessort… — rows are being staged. This one has a real progress bar.
Matching to your catalogue… — staged rows are compared against what you have and given proposed decisions. Quick.
Then Last sync completed, with what was staged and how matching came out, including how many rows were deferred for you. That last figure is the size of the review queue this run created.
One at a time
Only one run per channel can be in flight. Starting another while one is running is refused — wait for it to finish.
A sync also occupies the store's bulk export slot, which a weekly stock drift check needs. A drift check that finds the slot taken is recorded as skipped, which is normal and not a failure.
Your review decisions survive
A sync refreshes Yessort's own proposals but never overwrites a decision a person made. Re-syncing does not discard the queue work you have already done.
