Review and commit your catalogue

After the store's locations are mapped, Yessort pulls its products into a staging area. Nothing reaches your catalogue until you commit, so you can take your time.

Part of connecting a store; needs organisation-admin access.

Watch the pull

The pull runs in the background and reports where it is: Exporting from Shopify… while the store builds the export, then Saving into yessort… as rows are staged, then Matching to your catalogue… while Yessort compares them against what you already have.

The export stage shows a running count rather than a progress bar, because the store does not say how many items there will be in total.

Deal with the flagged rows first

Yessort flags what needs a person. Work through these before anything else, because they are where duplicates get created if you rush.

FlagWhat to do
SKU matches a variant you haveChoose Link to existing. This is the big one — creating instead leaves you selling the same thing twice
Duplicate SKU within the storeDecide which one is real. Shopify permits two variants to share a SKU; Yessort does not
No SKUA SKU has to be set. Yessort matches stock and orders by it
Barcode matches a registered physical productProbably the same physical item as an existing anchor

Decide on the rest

Each staged variant takes one decision.

  • Create — a new Yessort product and variant, linked to the listing, with its starting stock taken from the store.
  • Link to existing — attach the listing to a variant you already have. No new record, and your stock is left alone.
  • Skip — do not import it.

Yessort proposes a decision where it is confident. Those are guesses and it may revise them as the store changes. Anything you choose yourself is never revised.

Commit

When every row you care about has a decision, apply them. Variants marked create become real products and variants; variants marked link are attached to what you chose.

Committing does not put the channel live. Do that in activate a channel.

If you stop partway

Staged rows are kept for 30 days and you can resume inside that window. After it, the data is treated as stale and Yessort pulls the store again.
