Account types and statuses
Types
| Type | What it is for | Changes behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Trade | An ordinary business customer — a wholesaler, a retailer, a business buying for itself | The usual choice |
| Inter-company | Organisations in the same group trading with each other. The type the trade features attach to | Yes, where those features are in use |
| Reseller | A partner selling your catalogue under their own brand | No. Recorded, and nothing keys off it |
Trade is the default choice unless one of the others clearly applies.
Inter-company
Where two of your organisations sell to one another, the relationship attaches here. It is where partner pricing arrangements and the accounting contact for that counterpart sit.
If you are not trading between organisations, you will not need it.
Reseller
Selectable, and shown on the account. Nothing in Yessort behaves differently because an account is a reseller.
Set it if it records something useful for your own reporting. Do not expect it to change pricing, fulfilment or anything else — it will not.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | You are currently trading with them |
| Inactive | You are not. The account keeps its history and its buyers |
Making an account inactive is the reversible way to stop trading with a business without losing the record.
Changing a type
Possible after creation. It changes what the account is classified as; it does not retrospectively alter orders already placed under it.
