Add locations

A location is an addressable spot inside a warehouse site — a bin, a shelf, or a pallet space. Add one whenever you need to track stock at a new spot on the floor.

:::tip Adding locations is a warehouse-site job A shop site is created with a single main location and is normally left that way, so Yessort doesn't offer location management on one: its page shows no location list and no New location button. A virtual site holds its stock at site level and has no locations at all. See how Yessort models your warehouse for the full split between sites and locations. :::

1. Go to the warehouse site's page, then select Locations.
2. Select New location.
3. Enter a Code — the physical label on the shelf, unique within the site, for example A-01-03-B.
4. Optionally, set Zone, Aisle, Bay, and Shelf — free-text parts of the location's address, used for aggregations.
5. Optionally, enter a Barcode and a Name for the location.
6. Choose the type — standard, quarantine, damaged, receiving, dispatch, or virtual.
7. Set Pickable and Receivable to match how the spot is used — for example, a receiving bay is usually receivable but not pickable.
8. Select Add location.

You'll return to the site's page, where the new location appears in the list.
