Adjust stock

Adjust stock to correct on-hand quantity for a location without moving stock elsewhere — for example after damage, a miscount, or shrinkage. Every adjustment is tied to a reason, which keeps the change auditable.

  1. Go to the variant's page, then find the location row you want to correct in the stock-by-location table.
  2. Select the row's actions menu, then choose Adjust up / down. The Adjust stock drawer opens, showing the site, location, and current on-hand quantity for that row.
  3. Choose how you want to enter the change:
    • Add or remove — enter a signed delta (for example -2 to remove two units, or 5 to add five).
    • Set new count — enter the new on-hand total directly; Yessort works out the delta for you.
  4. Choose a Reason. Each reason is constrained to a direction — some reasons only increase stock, some only decrease it, and some allow either. If the quantity you've entered conflicts with the selected reason, Yessort disables the mismatched reasons (or flags the conflict if you picked the reason first) and blocks confirmation until you resolve it.
  5. Optionally add a note with any extra context worth recording.
  6. Check the on-hand preview, then select Confirm adjustment.

The adjustment updates on-hand immediately, which in turn affects available stock at that location.
