Make returned stock sellable
A restocked return lands in the receiving site's returns location. Where that location is not pickable, the stock is on-hand but not available — this is how you finish the job.
Check whether you need this step
Open the site's returns location and look at whether it is pickable.
- Pickable — the stock is already available and can be picked. There is nothing to do beyond checking the goods.
- Not pickable — the stock stays out of Available until you move it.
See the returns location for why, and site and location fields for where the flag lives.
Check the goods
This is the reason the stock is held back in the first place. Sound goods go to a pickable location. Damaged goods go to the site's damaged or quarantine location instead, so they are never picked by mistake — see location types.
Move the sound stock
Move it from the returns location to the location it should live in. Available goes up by what you moved, and the store's figure follows on the next availability pass. See move stock.
A note on home locations
Setting a variant's home location will not sweep stock out of the returns location for you. It is skipped on purpose, so this move stays a deliberate act by someone who has looked at the goods.
Permissions
You need permission to update inventory to move stock.
