Move stock

Move stock between two locations in the same site — for example to re-slot a variant into a better bin, or to consolidate scattered stock into one spot. A move only changes where stock sits; it doesn't change the total on-hand for the site. See how Yessort models your warehouse for the site/location split. Moving stock to a different site is a separate feature — see how transfers work.

  1. Go to the variant's page, then find the location row you want to move stock from in the stock-by-location table.
  2. Select the row's actions menu, then choose Move to another location. The Move stock drawer opens, showing the site, source location, and current on-hand quantity for that row. This option is only offered for rows that have a location — a site-level row, which is what a virtual site holds its stock as, has no location to move from.
  3. Search for and select a destination bin. Only bins in the same site are offered, and the source bin is excluded from the results.
  4. Enter the quantity to move — up to the source location's current on-hand.
  5. Check the source → destination preview, then select Confirm move.

The stock leaves the source location and appears at the destination immediately, with the site's total on-hand unchanged.
