Create a manual order

Create a manual order for a sale that didn't come from a sales channel — a phone order, a trade order, a walk-in.

  1. Go to Orders, then select New manual order.
  2. Under Customer & channel:
    • If you belong to more than one organisation, choose the Organisation the order belongs to.
    • Choose the Channel the order is placed against — this sets the order's currency and pricing.
    • Choose the Customer, or leave it as Anonymous (no customer).
  3. Under Products, search for items by name or SKU and select one to add it as a line. For each line, set the Quantity and, if needed, override the Unit price (it's pre-filled from the sales price list that resolves for the channel). Select Add custom item to add an off-catalogue line by title and SKU instead. A stock badge on each catalogue line shows what's in stock, or how short the line is against what's on hand.
  4. Under Shipping, select Add shipping address to enter where the order goes: Recipient name, Address line 1, City, Postcode, and Country. If the customer has saved addresses, pick one from Use a saved address instead — selecting a customer with a default shipping address fills this in automatically.
  5. Under Notes, add any free text you want to keep against the order.
  6. Check the Order summary panel — items, lines and subtotal — then select Create & confirm to confirm the order immediately, or Save as draft to leave it for later.

What happens next

A manual order starts as draft unless you confirm it straight away. Confirming it — either now, or later from the order page — freezes its invoicing strategy and makes it eligible to be routed and picked. See the order statuses reference for what draft and confirmed mean and how an order moves between them.

Tax, shipping and discounts aren't shown while you build the order — they're calculated when it's confirmed.
