Orders overview

An order is a request to ship products to a customer. Yessort takes each order through its lifecycle — from new, to picked, to packed, to shipped — while keeping your inventory in step at every stage.

The order lifecycle

Every order moves through these states, shown as a badge throughout the app:

  1. New — the order arrives and stock is reserved against it.
  2. Picking — your team collects the items from their bin locations.
  3. Packing — picked items are checked and packed for dispatch.
  4. Shipped — the order leaves the warehouse and reserved stock is removed from on hand.

A cancelled order shows as Cancelled.

Picking an order

When you start picking, Yessort generates a pick list showing each variant, the quantity needed, and the bin location to collect it from — for example, pick 3 × YS-TEE-BLK-M from bin A-12-03. Following the list top to bottom gives you an efficient route through the warehouse.

tip

Press K anywhere in Yessort to jump straight to an order by its number.

Stock reservations

As soon as an order is created, the stock it needs is reserved so it can't be sold twice. If an order is cancelled, that reserved stock returns to your available total automatically. See Inventory overview for how reserved and available quantities relate.

Cancellations and edits

Plans change. You can edit quantities or cancel an order before it ships; Yessort releases or re-reserves stock to match.
