Fix a print that did not appear
Nothing came out. Work through these in order — they are arranged so the most common causes come first.
1. Is the agent running?
The most frequent cause by a distance.
Check the site's device under Printing in your settings. Offline means no machine is collecting jobs there — shut down, rebooted, or the app quit.
Nothing is lost. Jobs queue and print once the agent is back. Start it and watch them go.
If everything at a site stopped at once, this is almost certainly it.
2. Is the job parked with no printer?
If other jobs are printing and one is not, Yessort probably could not work out where to send it.
A job with no printer resolvable parks rather than fails, so it shows as queued and reports no error. Nothing went wrong — the question of where to print has no answer yet.
Fix it by giving it one: a site default, or a routing rule. See how a printer is chosen.
3. Did it print somewhere else?
Before assuming nothing happened, check whether it came out somewhere unexpected.
Small labels on an A4 sheet means the site has no thermal-label default, so item labels fell back to the document default. Set one.
Right printer, wrong place — check whether a routing rule sends that document type elsewhere.
4. Did the job error?
An error means an agent had the job and the printer would not take it — out of labels, offline, or rejecting the data.
The reason is recorded. An error is more informative than it looks: the chain worked up to the last step.
5. Is the right stock loaded?
If something printed but came out wrong — cut off, wrong size — check the printer's loaded stock against what the job needed.
A mismatch is flagged, and it explains a courier label printed on small product labels.
Quick table
| Symptom | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| Everything at a site stopped | Agent not running |
| One job stuck, others fine | Parked with no printer |
| Labels on A4 | No thermal-label default at that site |
| Job shows error | Printer refused it — read the reason |
| Printed but wrong size | Wrong stock loaded |
| Courier label missing | Check it was bought — see buy and print courier labels |
Reprinting a courier label costs nothing
If a courier label jammed or vanished, reprint it — the stored label is sent again, with the same tracking number, and nothing is bought.
Do not void it. Void cancels the label with the carrier and is for a parcel that is not going. See courier labels and reprints.
