Set up a sales price list

This is the recipe for creating a sales price list, entering prices against it, and publishing prices a rule has proposed.

Create the list

  1. Go to Catalogue → Price lists.
  2. Select New price list.
  3. Enter a Name and choose the Currency — currency can't be changed once the list is created.
  4. Leave Type on Sales. The dialog still offers Purchase, but nothing in Yessort ever reads a Purchase-type list back — it's a sales list you want here.
  5. Tick Make default if this should be the list Yessort uses whenever nothing more specific applies for this currency.
  6. Optionally set a Priority — a number Yessort uses to rank this list against other non-default sales price lists that could apply to the same sale; a higher number wins.
  7. Select Create.

Enter prices in the grid

  1. Go to Catalogue → Pricing.
  2. Under Price lists, select your list's chip to add it as a column. (A list not appearing here yet? Select New price list from this screen instead — it's a quicker version of the New price list dialog, but it always creates a Sales-type list.)
  3. Type a price straight into a cell for the variant and unit you want to price, then click away from it. It saves automatically as a draft — you'll see an amber dot next to the price, and a bar appears above the grid showing how many unpublished changes are pending.
  4. Publish, Discard and Schedule on that bar act on every unpublished change across all the lists currently shown as columns in the grid, not just one list. Select Publish to make them live, or Discard to drop them. For Schedule, pick the date and time in the field next to the button first, then select Schedule to publish automatically at that moment instead.

Publish prices produced by a rule

A pricing rule fills in prices for you instead of typing them one by one.

  1. Open the sales price list's detail page and find the Pricing rules section.
  2. Select Add rule, then set what it matches (for example, all products in a brand), what it's based on (for example, weighted average cost), and any adjustment (a percentage markup, say).
  3. Select Preview to see the prices the rule would set, without saving anything.
  4. Select Run rules to write those figures in. Prices a rule produces are drafts, just like a typed price — they aren't live until you publish them. Go back to the pricing grid and select Publish on the drafts bar to make them live, exactly as you would for a hand-typed price.

See sales price list rule types for what each rule setting does.
