Products overview

A product is anything you stock and sell. Products are the foundation of Yessort — inventory levels, orders, and reporting all hang off them.

Products and variants​

  • A product represents the item itself (for example, "Classic T-Shirt").
  • A variant represents a specific version of that product (for example, "Classic T-Shirt — Medium — Blue").

Every variant has its own SKU, and stock is tracked at the variant level. If a product only comes in one form, it simply has a single variant.

Creating a product​

  1. Go to Products and select New product.
  2. Enter a name and, optionally, a description.
  3. Add one or more variants, each with its own SKU.
  4. Save.

Your new product won't have any stock yet — that comes from receiving inventory.

Keeping products tidy​

  • Use clear, consistent SKUs — they're how Yessort matches stock and orders to the right variant.
  • Archive products you no longer sell instead of deleting them, so your historical orders and reports stay intact.
