Create an anchor

This is normally done by the facility operator — creating a shared anchor is how a physical product gets an identity that more than one organisation can recognise.

  1. Go to Anchors in the sidebar.
  2. Select New anchor.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Curator org — only shown if you can create anchors for more than one organisation; otherwise it's set for you.
    • Primary GTIN (14 digits) — the product's GS1 barcode.
    • Display name — what the anchor is called, for example "12-pack red bounce tubes".
    • Brand (optional).
  4. Select Create anchor.

The GTIN must be exactly 14 digits and unique across your anchors — Yessort tells you if it isn't, or if the display name is missing. Once the anchor is created, none of these details can be changed, so check them before saving.
