Link a variant to an anchor
Each brand tenant links its own variants — this is how your stock joins a shared anchor so it can be counted alongside another organisation's stock at a shared location, or traded with a counterpart. There are two separate screens that do this, with different controls, so use the one that matches where you're working.
From the catalogue
- Open the variant's detail sheet from the catalogue and find its Shared anchor section.
- If it isn't linked yet, search for the anchor using the field labelled Search anchors — GTIN or name.
- Select Link next to the matching anchor.
If the variant is already linked, this same section shows an Unlink control instead.
From the inventory variant page
- Open the variant's detail page from inventory and expand the Shared anchor section.
- Select Link to anchor… — this reads Change… instead if the variant is already linked to an anchor.
- This opens a dialog titled Pick a shared anchor. Search using Search by GTIN or name… (type at least 2 characters), then choose the anchor.
A separate Unlink control on this page removes the link.
What happens when you link or unlink
Only anchors visible to your organisation turn up in either search — see who can find an anchor when linking a variant. Linking publishes your availability to trading counterparts straight away; unlinking retracts it. See trading relationships for what has to be in place before that availability reaches anyone.
Searching in All organisations view never finds anything, whatever's actually visible to your memberships: the search needs a single active organisation selected to know whose relationships and site memberships to check. Switch to one organisation before searching for an anchor to link.
