How pick-face replenishment works

Pick-face replenishment moves stock from reserve locations into forward-pick faces at the same site, so a picker never has to leave a pick face empty. It runs on sites using advanced locations only — a site using simple locations has no pick faces to top up. It's a web screen only — there is no offline or phone version.

What a replenishment policy controls

A replenishment policy sets three numbers for one variant at one pick face: a minimum, a maximum and an increment. When the pick face's available quantity falls short of the minimum, a replenishment task is raised to top it back up towards the maximum, rounded up to a whole multiple of the increment where the maximum allows.

How tasks are raised

Tasks are raised automatically by a sweep that runs every four hours, and can also be raised on demand for a site whenever you want to check what's due without waiting for the next sweep.

Where the stock comes from

A replenishment task always draws from reserve locations, and never from another pick face — the reserve location with the most available stock is offered first.

Pick-face replenishment is not reordering

These are two different systems, worth keeping apart. Reordering brings stock into a site in the first place, by purchase order or transfer.
