Transfer statuses
A transfer has five statuses. Four of them are the journey — Draft, Open, In transit, Completed — and the fifth, Cancelled, is the way out before anything has left the source site. See how transfers work for what each step does to your stock figures.

Completion is derived, not clicked
There is no Complete button. A transfer moves to Completed on its own, as soon as every dispatched unit has been resolved — received at the destination, returned to the source site's stock, or written off — and nothing is still held for a later dispatch. The transfer note isn't available in Draft
The Transfer note can be printed from Open onwards — so in Open, In transit, Completed and Cancelled. Only Draft has no note, because a draft transfer hasn't been confirmed and nothing is held for it yet.
Printing in Open is the point: the note lists the quantities being held at the source locations, so you can print it before dispatch and pick against it as you stage the goods.
The same state reads Open in one place and Confirmed in another
A confirmed transfer that hasn't been dispatched yet is one state, but it is labelled two ways, and both appear on the same page, one above the other:
- The status badge — on the transfers list and at the top of the transfer — reads Open.
- The progress stepper on the transfer document labels the same step Confirmed, between Draft and In transit.
They are not two stages. If the badge says Open and the stepper says Confirmed, the transfer is confirmed with its stock held at the source site, waiting to be dispatched.
